  • Jeans for Genes day September 2022

    Thu 22 Sep 2022 BB

    Friday 23rd September is Jeans for Genes day! We love supporting this amazing charity. Staff and pupils can wear jeans to school and donate £1 to this cause to support children who are very ill and in need of help. Diolch for your generosity!

  • INSET DAY

    The next school INSET DAY will be on Monday 27th February 2023.

    The school will be closed to all pupils on this day as it is a staff training day.

  • The start of the Autumn Term 2022

    We are looking forward to welcoming all pupils back to school on Wednesday 7th September 2022 at 8.55am.

    The way the pupils come into school has changed all classes APART from St Gladys(rec/yr1) will be now come into the main playground and waited with until 8.55am when the teachers would come and meet the whole class.

    No pupil is allowed to be left alone on the playground unsupervised.

    St Gladys class(Rec/yr1 ) will continue lining up at the same entrance which is next to the main carpark.

  • Enterprise Fair

    Dear Parents and Carers, Our class will be taking part in the Enterprise Fair. To be ready for this, we have an important job to do next week! Our class has decided to make: 1. Welsh love spoons 2. Welsh bracelets Our plan is to sell these items at the Enterprise Fair and to make a profit! The profit will be used for us to buy resources for our class. Our class would like to make enough money to buy board games for wet play times and new sports equipment, we will use these in our learning! All parents and carers are invited to come to the Enterprise Fair on Friday 15th July and buy the items we have made. There will be tea and cake for you to buy too! Every pupil in our class has been asked to invest £2 so we can buy the resources to make our items. Please can pupils bring in their £2 investment by Monday 27th June 2022. We are really excited to have our enterprise week next week and we are looking forward to seeing you at the Fair on the 15th July from 2pm. Miss Evans

  • Queenโ€™s Platinum Jubilee

    Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Tuesday June 7th 2022

     

    On Tuesday June 7th we will be holding a Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Tea Party at our school.  All our pupils will be part of the celebration.  They may come to school on that day wearing their best party clothes!  Each class will perform a song to the rest of the school from a decade of the Queen’s Reign.  We will of course film the singing and dancing and put onto twitter for you all to see.

    Foundation Phase (Dosbarth St. Gladys and St. Cadoc)

     

    Can you design a new crown for the Queen?  You can use any resources that you have at home e.g. coloured paper, glitter, sparkly pieces, tin foil etc.  We look forward to seeing your creation! 

     

    Key Stage Two (Dosbarth St. David, St. Teilo and St. Tathan)

    Can you create a miniature garden?  This can be made in a shoe box sized container, seed tray, turkey tray etc.  Be as creative as you like!  It would be great to see recycled materials being used.  You could even create a theme to your garden.   

     

     

    Please could all entries be brought to school on the day of our celebration – Tuesday 7th June.  We look forward to seeing all your creations!

     

     

  • Barry Island

    Dear Parent and Carers,

    As part of the class topic, ANIMALS, pupils in Dosbarth St Cadoc will be going to Barry Island on Wednesday 25th May 2022 to look at the sea life and spend time on the beach.

    The class will be travelling by train under the supervision of staff.

    Your child will need:

    • Weather appropriate clothes and footwear    *sunglasses
    • Sunhat or cap
    • A clean, dry towel to sit on
    • Bucket and spade (if you have them)
    • A healthy packed lunch and drink (pupils is receipt of FSM will have this provided by school)
    • The children will be rock pooling so if you have a small net, this would be very useful!

    NO SPENDING MONEY TO BE BROUGHT ON THIS TRIP

     

    We are asking for contributions of £3.00 per pupil to cover the cost of the train and an ice-cream!

    This cost includes a subsidy using the school fund.

    No child will be excluded from the trip due to no parental contribution. However, if not even contributions are made, the trip may have to be cancelled.

    Contributions are to be made using PARENT PAL. Please do not send any money to school.

    Please make your contribution and sign and return the permission slip by Tuesday 17th May.

     

    Your child/ren are going to have a fantastic day and enjoy a great learning experience. Look below at the pictures of Barry Island.

    As part of our topic this term, “St Francis teaches us to care about animals”, we would like your child to have the opportunity to see and learn about animals first hand so we have organised a trip to PLANTASIA on Friday 27th May.

     

    Details are:

    Trip: PLANTASIA     Date: Friday 27th May 

     Who: Dosbarth St Gladys & Dosbarth St David

    Time: leave school at 9.00am and return by 3.20pm

    Details of location - 2AL

    We are asking for a contribution of £10 per child to cover the cost of transport and entry. School fund will be used to subsidise the trip for all pupils. 

    Pupils in receipt of FSM will be paid for in full using the Pupil Development Grant.

    Whilst no child will be excluded from the trip for not making a contribution, if not enough contributions are made then the trip will be cancelled.

     

    The £10 contribution can be made via Parent Pay – no cash can be accepted.

    Please make your contribution by FRIDAY 20th MAY 2022

    For this trip your child will need:

    Packed lunch   * Only FSM pupils will be provided with a lunch from school

    All pupils need to wear full school uniform – this is essential for safeguarding purposes.

    A waterproof coat – we never know what the weather will be like!

    No spending money needed.

  • Acorn Club

    ACORN CLUB

                                                                                       

     

    We are so happy to announce that we are starting ACORN CLUB! ๐Ÿ˜Š

    ACORN Club is a time for parents and carers to come to school and read a story to their child. This will take place in the school hall and Miss Croll will be available to support you in choosing a book and making a cup of tea!

    It is a very friendly session where mums or dads or nans or aunties can spend quality time with their child developing a love for reading for pleasure!

    Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are invited to ACORN Club!

     

    When?      Every Thursday  9.10 – 10.00am

    Where?     In the school hall

    You do not need to bring anything, everything will be provided.

    Come along and see how happy your child is to have you there!
