EAL - English as an Additional Language

At St Cuthbert's Catholic Primary we aim to ensure that we meet all the needs of the children who are learning English as an additional language. Our aim is to help pupils become confident and fluent in speaking, listening, reading and writing in the English language in order to fulfil their academic potential.

At St Cuthbert's, we are very proud of the 21 different languages spoken at our school!

Our staff are trained in EAL strategies and we are supported by EMTAS staff when needed.
