Hello Everyone!

We are the Reception and Year 1.    

This year is going to be so exciting with all the new things that we will be learning together.

Our Bread Dough Investigation

We wanted to find out what happened to dough to when it was cooked for different times.  We made predictions, chose the ingredients, collected the equipment, planned the method, undertook the investigation and collected the results! Phew! We were very busy scientists!

We are scientists!

This half term we have been looking at how materials can change and we have focused on ingredients found in bread.  We have learnt so much!  Have a look at the photos below and follow our investigation.

We have been focused on Stewardship as part of Catholic Social Teaching.

We have been working in the garden trying to make a working garden full of herbs, vegetables and fruits.

We've been using outside spaces for our science work this half term.  We have been to the beach to carry on our topic work and exploring the rock pools.  We found crabs, seaweed, shells and lots of driftwood.  We tested the difference between dry sand and wet sand when building sandcastles.  This was such a busy day!

We are also starting to develop our garden area.  We've been planting sunflowers, bedding plants and herbs.  Our next step is to start growing vegetables!

We've been listening to the story of The Feeding of the 5000.  We made our own baskets of fish and loaves, we also chose words from Jesus to add to the picture.

We are preparing for Jesus during Advent and have been exploring the Christmas Story.  Take a look at some of the things we have been doing.
